WHO SHOULD PARTICIPATE: Clinical staff, nurse leaders, and any staff members who work with wound care.
OVERVIEW: Impaired circulation and bony deformities make lower extremity wounds difficulty to heal, and recommended interventions are often rejected. This webinar evaluates treatment of arterial, pressure-related, edema-related and neuropathic wounds of the lower leg, ankle and foot and provides an updated look at products and treatments that help with healing.
OBJECTIVES:
At the conclusion of this session, participants will be able to:
- Summarize four key assessment points for lower extremity wounds;
- Examine three methods for decreasing bacterial load in high-risk wounds;
- Analyze optimal dressing choices based on wound depth and exudate amount; and
- Contrast classic and disposable negative pressure wounds therapy options.
